Wintery Walks at Weston

Weston Park, the stately home on the Shropshire / Staffordshire border will open the Park and Gardens for a wintery walk between Christmas and New Year.

In the 1700’s Sir Henry Bridgeman commissioned the building of the Granary at Weston and also contracted ‘Capability’ Brown to landscape the Park in the style of the day.

Andrea Webster, Marketing Executive comments: “After all those festive indulgences this is a great opportunity to enjoy a walk around the parkland and take in the beautiful vistas.”

On Sunday 2nd January, Head Gardener Martin Gee will lead the New Year’s Walk through Temple Wood, Paine’s Bridge, and the sweeping Shrewsbury Walk.

Martin’s tour will explore areas of the estate not usually open to the visiting public and covers woodland tracks, hilly areas and fields.

The Granary Grill, Bar & Restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner throughout the period.

The Park is open between Monday 27th and Thursday 30th December from 10am – 2pm (last admission 1.30pm) admission is £2 per person payable in the Granary Farm Shop.

The New Year’s Walk takes place on Sunday 2nd January starting at 10.30am and costs £5.00 per adult, £4.50 for seniors and £3.00 for children.
